Kyiv, Ukraine – Web Desk: At least 10 people have been killed in a wave of Russian attacks on Ukraine, while a 1,000-year-old monastery in Kyiv has suffered damage, according to media reports.
The monastery, regarded as a symbol of Ukraine’s spiritual and cultural heritage, was heavily affected during one of the most intense Russian airstrikes on the capital in the past two weeks.
Officials said the overnight bombardment caused multiple casualties, with reports confirming at least 10 deaths so far across Ukraine.
France’s foreign minister compared the attack on the UNESCO-listed site, founded in 1051, to the bombing of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, underscoring the cultural significance of the damage.
Authorities are continuing to assess the full scale of destruction as emergency teams respond to affected areas.
