Mumbai, India – Web Desk: In the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup, West Indies registered a commanding 107-run victory over Zimbabwe at the Wankhede Stadium. Chasing a massive 255, Zimbabwe was bowled out for just 147 in the 18th over.
For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans top-scored with 43 runs, followed by Dion Myers (28) and captain Sikandar Raza (27). Several other batsmen struggled, with Ryan Burl, Tashinga Masokwa, Graeme Cremer, and Blessing Muzarabani returning to the pavilion without scoring.
West Indies’ bowling was led by Gudakesh Motie with 4 wickets, Akeal Hosein 3, while Jason Holder and Matthew Ford chipped in with one wicket each.
Earlier, Zimbabwe batted first and posted a competitive 254/6 in their 20 overs. West Indies’ innings was powered by a fiery Shimron Hetmyer 85, Rovman Powell 59, and Romario Shepherd 21. Shai Hope scored 14 and Jason Holder 13, while Sharfine Rutherford remained unbeaten on 31.
Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani took 2 wickets apiece, with Graeme Cremer and Brad Evans claiming one wicket each. West Indies’ comprehensive victory keeps them on track in the Super 8 stage.
