Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), saying Tehran broke an agreement reached with the United States and warning of a forceful American response.
Speaking in a telephone interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends”, Trump claimed that Iran had failed to honor the agreement and said the US had responded with military action.
“We had a deal, and then they broke it. They always break it, so we’re just going to hit them very hard,” Trump said.
The US president also claimed that much of Iran’s military equipment had been destroyed, adding that Washington would continue responding to any attacks.
“Most of their equipment is gone. We hit them very hard last night. Every time they send a drone, we hit them very hard,” he said.
Trump further reiterated his position on the Strait of Hormuz, saying the United States intended to safeguard the strategic waterway and could take a leading role in its security.
