WASHINGTON – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the ongoing tensions and conflict against Iran will end very soon, asserting that the United States will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
Addressing lawmakers at the White House, President Trump said, “Iran now wants to reach a deal because it is tired of this situation. We will end this war very soon. Iran is thinking about acquiring nuclear weapons, but we will not let them do that.”
He further claimed that the United States has done an excellent job in handling the matter and expressed hope that the issue will be resolved amicably. Trump added that Washington is committed to stopping Iran’s nuclear program and preventing further escalation of tensions in the region.
The statement comes at a time when the Republican majority in the US Senate has voted in favor of advancing a resolution aimed at conditioning any US military action against Iran on explicit congressional approval. According to US media, the resolution would require the president to seek formal authorization from Congress to continue military actions against Iran.
Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and the United States continue to keep the Middle East situation uncertain, with the international community expressing concern over a potential expansion of the conflict.
