Washington, United States – Web Desk: US intelligence agencies have warned that the Iran conflict could widen amid growing concerns over potential support from Russia and China, according to American officials.
Citing CBS News, analysts at the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) assessed that China is considering supplying Iran with advanced radar systems.
Officials said the systems under consideration include X-band radar technology, which could significantly enhance Iran’s ability to detect low-flying drones and cruise missiles, while strengthening its overall air defence capabilities against modern aerial threats.
It remains unclear whether any such transfer has taken place, but US officials say the possibility highlights rising concerns in Washington that the conflict could open pathways for indirect military assistance from global powers.
Separately, US officials also stated that Russia has shared intelligence with Iran regarding American military positions in the Middle East, further intensifying geopolitical tensions in the region.
The United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting Iranian retaliation and escalating regional instability, according to officials.
Analysts say the situation underscores the risk of the conflict expanding beyond a regional confrontation into a broader geopolitical standoff involving major global powers.
