Pakistani immigrants among affected as Trump administration’s visa suspension faces legal challenge
New York, USA | Web Desk — The Trump administration’s decision to suspend immigrant visa processing for citizens of 75 countries, including Pakistan, has been legally challenged in a U.S. federal court. Civil rights organizations filed the case in New York, seeking an immediate halt to the policy and declaring it unlawful.
Plaintiffs argue that the suspension undermines decades of established U.S. immigration law and severely impacts individuals seeking lawful entry. The policy, which came into effect on January 21, affects countries including Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bhutan, Bosnia, and several others.
Legal experts say the court case could determine whether the administration can enforce such sweeping immigration restrictions and set a precedent for future visa policies.
