US Says It Will Not Be Forced Into ‘Bad Deal’ With Iran

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States has said it will not be pressured into accepting what it described as a “bad deal” with Iran, as diplomatic discussions over Tehran’s nuclear program and regional tensions continue.

Speaking to Arab media, US State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said Washington would not rush into any agreement with Iran and would only support a deal that aligns with American interests.

Pigott stated that President Donald Trump has made clear that diplomacy remains the preferred path, but stressed that the United States would not compromise on its key security concerns.

“The president wants a good deal for the American people,” Pigott said, adding that Washington’s position remains firm that Iran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

The spokesperson also noted that the US administration is closely monitoring ongoing negotiations with Iran as well as the evolving security situation in the Middle East.

His remarks come amid growing speculation about a possible ceasefire framework and discussions regarding sanctions relief between Washington and Tehran. Recent international media reports have suggested that both sides may be moving closer to a broader agreement related to regional stability and the Strait of Hormuz, although US officials continue to maintain a hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear activities.
