Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States has amassed sufficient military resources to conduct intense air strikes on Iran for at least four to five consecutive days, according to a senior Israeli intelligence official speaking anonymously to the Financial Times.
The official said Washington is building a significant military presence in the region and currently has the capability to sustain high-intensity operations for nearly a week. The United States has already deployed two aircraft carrier strike groups and other heavy military assets, capable of fighting continuously for up to seven days.
However, the Israeli official cautioned that the United States’ ability to sustain a prolonged and large-scale war campaign may be limited, noting that extended operations would require additional logistics and reinforcements.
The report also said Israeli authorities fear that limited and short-term US strikes could embolden Iran’s leadership rather than weaken it, potentially escalating tensions across the Middle East.
In a sign of Washington’s military readiness, the US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford was seen anchored at Souda Bay on the Greek island of Crete on February 24, 2026, underscoring the United States’ intent to maintain a strong military posture for any regional contingency.
US naval fleets in the Pacific and aircraft stationed in Portugal have also taken strategic positions amid rising tensions.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence in a potential conflict, saying the United States would easily win a war against Iran and that such a conflict would end quickly.
