Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: Israel has issued a stark warning to Lebanon, saying it will launch devastating attacks if Hezbollah intervenes in a potential conflict between the United States and Iran.
According to international media reports, Israeli officials said that any Hezbollah military involvement in support of Iran would trigger Israeli strikes across Lebanon, including on civilian infrastructure and Beirut’s main international airport. Israeli authorities urged the Lebanese government to prevent Hezbollah from joining the conflict, warning that failure to do so would result in severe consequences.
Two senior Lebanese officials confirmed to Reuters that Israel had conveyed a clear message that Lebanon would face heavy retaliation if Hezbollah carries out any military action. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office and the Lebanese presidency did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Earlier, the United States and Israel had reportedly pressured Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah by the end of the year, a proposal that Lebanese authorities had agreed to in principle.
The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions, as the United States has deployed one of the world’s largest naval fleets toward Iran. US aircraft have also taken positions at an air base in Portugal, while another US naval fleet is already operating in the Middle East.
Israeli intelligence sources claimed the United States has sufficient military resources to conduct sustained high-intensity strikes on Iran for five to six consecutive days.
The escalating rhetoric underscores growing fears of a broader regional conflict involving Iran, Israel, Hezbollah, and US forces.
