New York, United States – Web Desk: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has strongly condemned the deadly train blast in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan, describing the attack as a serious act of terrorism.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, the UN chief expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion targeting a train in Quetta. The statement extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.
The statement emphasized that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is unacceptable and stressed that those responsible for the attack must be identified and brought to justice.
António Guterres also reaffirmed the United Nations’ solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan, saying the international community stands with Pakistan in its efforts to combat terrorism and maintain regional stability.
The blast has once again raised concerns over security challenges in Balochistan, where militant violence has remained a persistent issue in recent years.
