Beijing, China – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a series of high-level meetings with leading Chinese business delegations during his visit to China, focusing on expanding investment and accelerating economic cooperation under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The meetings in Beijing centered on strengthening collaboration in key sectors including agriculture, industrial production, logistics, infrastructure, technology, maritime development, and mineral processing.
According to official statements, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing a business-friendly environment for Chinese investors and emphasized the importance of timely implementation of strategic projects under CPEC Phase-II.
Prime Minister Shehbaz met executives of FAMSUN, led by CEO Zheng Jun Chen, and praised the company’s contributions to Pakistan’s agriculture sector, particularly in grain storage, feed production, and food security. He highlighted reducing post-harvest losses as a government priority and invited the company to establish manufacturing and technology transfer facilities in Pakistan under Special Economic Zones and the Green Pakistan Initiative.
The prime minister also met Chairman Hou Jian Xin of Shandong Xinhua Group Corporation and welcomed the company’s growing investment in Pakistan’s maritime sector, battery manufacturing, mineral processing, and industrial cooperation.
He appreciated the group’s role in projects including the Xinfa Special Economic Zone, the C2 Steel project at Port Qasim, and investment initiatives linked to Gwadar and northern mineral sectors. Shehbaz Sharif assured full government support for these strategic projects and stressed the need for their fast-track implementation.
In separate meetings, the prime minister also held talks with senior officials of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), acknowledging their decades-long role in Pakistan’s infrastructure development, including the Karakoram Highway and Rashakai Special Economic Zone.
The discussions also covered progress on ML-1 railway modernization, Karakoram Highway realignment, and regional connectivity projects under CPEC. Chinese companies expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential and showed keen interest in increasing investment across multiple sectors.
