Beijing, China – Web Desk: China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in Beijing, reaffirming the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries and describing bilateral relations as “rock-solid” amid changing global and regional dynamics.
According to a statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi said the friendship between Pakistan and China would remain as strong as a rock regardless of international developments. He also acknowledged the role of the Pakistan Army in promoting cooperation and strengthening strategic ties between the two neighboring countries.
The Chinese foreign minister said Beijing places great importance on its strategic relationship with Islamabad and remains committed to expanding bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan takes pride in its “everlasting and iron-clad friendship” with China. He added that China’s growing global influence and international standing have been widely recognized in recent years.
The Pakistani army chief also praised the initiatives proposed by the Chinese leadership, including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and other global cooperation frameworks, describing them as important for promoting international peace, regional stability, development, and global connectivity.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional developments, mutual cooperation, and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations in political, economic, and security fields.
