DUBAI – Web Desk: The United Arab Emirates has resumed issuing visit visas to Pakistani citizens applying through registered travel agents, easing months of uncertainty for applicants, according to travel industry representatives and a UAE embassy official.
The UAE, home to approximately 1.8 million Pakistanis, has begun processing family applications more smoothly and quickly, addressing complaints over long delays and extended scrutiny. Travel executives noted the biggest improvement has been for families, whose applications previously faced significant delays.
Muhammad Nadeem Sharif, CEO of Aroma Travels and former chairman of the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan, said the UAE embassy in Pakistan has started issuing visas to Pakistani tourists traveling with families, calling it a positive development. Applicants traveling with families or joining relatives already in the UAE are now receiving timely responses.
Daily passenger traffic from Pakistan to Dubai rose from 170 to approximately 400 by the last week of July, according to a senior Pakistani immigration official. Tourism promotion campaigns have also resumed, with traveler movement gradually recovering amid recent regional tensions.
