WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has, for the first time during the ongoing anti-government protests in Iran, issued a direct message to the Iranian people.
According to international news agencies, President Trump released this message on his social media platform Truth Social.
In very clear terms, President Trump said: “Patriotic Iranians, continue your protests, take control of national institutions, help is on the way.”
The U.S. President further added: “Keep the names of killers and oppressors safe; they will soon pay a heavy price for their crimes.”
In the same statement, he also announced that all negotiation meetings with Iranian officials have been canceled until the Iranian government stops the massacre of protesters.
It should be noted that this statement came after Iran’s Foreign Minister, in an interview, revealed that American weapons and ammunition had been recovered from miscreants among the protesters.
He also stated that calls from abroad had been recorded in which instructions were given to fire upon police and protesters.
Since December 28, nationwide protests in Iran have intensified, with conflicting and disturbing reports about the number of deaths.
In such circumstances, the U.S. President has already threatened that if more protesters are killed, he will launch a major military attack on Iran.
