Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has warned Iran of serious consequences if a nuclear agreement is not reached, saying failure to secure a deal would be “a very bad day” for Tehran.
Trump dismissed reports suggesting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Daniel Caine opposed US military action against Iran, calling the claims “fake news” and “100 percent false.” He said he would make the final decision on Iran policy.
The US president said he prefers a diplomatic agreement but warned that Iran could face severe consequences if negotiations fail.
US and Iranian delegations are scheduled to hold high-level nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday, with US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner expected to attend, according to officials.
The upcoming meeting is seen as a critical step in ongoing efforts to address Iran’s nuclear program and regional security concerns.
