Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump is reportedly frustrated that Iran has not softened its stance despite increased military and naval pressure in the Middle East, as diplomatic efforts show little progress.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said in an interview that the president questioned why Iran has not announced it would abandon weapons ambitions despite heavy US military pressure and an expanded naval presence in the region.
According to Witkoff, Trump also asked why Tehran has not publicly stated that it does not seek weapons, even as Washington continues to bolster its military deployments in the Middle East.
The United States and Iran have held two rounds of talks so far, but no major breakthrough has been reported. Meanwhile, Washington is further strengthening its military posture, with reports indicating another US aircraft carrier is heading to the region.
Political analysts say that despite rising tensions, diplomatic channels have not been completely closed, although mutual distrust between the two countries remains high.
