Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Three additional Iranian oil tankers have reportedly reached Iran after bypassing what Iranian media described as a US naval blockade, according to satellite tracking data and maritime monitoring reports.
Iranian media said the tankers were successfully added to the country’s oil storage network, increasing Iran’s crude oil storage capacity amid ongoing regional tensions and restrictions on maritime trade routes.
According to maritime monitoring company TankerTrackers.com, the vessels used different tactics to avoid detection during their voyage. One tanker reportedly switched off its automatic tracking system, another sailed under a Russian flag instead of the Iranian flag, while a third vessel used a coastal route near Oman.
The development comes more than a month after heightened US naval monitoring operations around Iranian ports and shipping routes in the Gulf region.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has previously claimed that Iran’s oil storage capacity at Kharg Island was nearing its limit. However, maritime tracking data cited by TankerTrackers.com suggests Iran still retains the ability to store oil supplies for more than a month.
The reported tanker movements are likely to intensify attention on sanctions enforcement, Gulf shipping security, and global oil market stability as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue.
