Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has described the coal-to-urea project in Thar as a potential game changer for both the region and Pakistan.
The announcement came during a key meeting between the Sindh government and the Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), attended by FFC CEO Jahangir Pracha and senior officials.
Speaking at the session, CM Shah highlighted that the project will reduce urea prices, benefiting Pakistan’s agricultural sector. He said the initiative is of strategic importance for Sindh’s economy and will create over 3,500 direct and 7,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The project is also expected to reduce urea imports and generate export revenue of up to $260 million for the national treasury. Additionally, the Sindh government is projected to earn approximately $5.5 million annually in royalties from the venture.
