US Sends Largest Carrier Fleet Near Iran Amid Nuclear Tensions

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States has deployed its largest aircraft carrier strike group toward the Middle East amid ongoing tensions with Iran and stalled nuclear negotiations, global media reported.

The USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, has entered the Mediterranean Sea and is moving toward the region, according to ship-tracking data. The carrier strike group is currently transiting the Strait of Gibraltar, signaling an accelerated deployment toward the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump last week ordered the carrier strike group to be sent to the region as Washington continues to weigh potential military options against Iran. Defense officials said the carrier is expected to arrive in the Middle East within days and will be prepared for possible operations if required.

The deployment comes as the second round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran continues without a breakthrough, while tensions remain elevated.

Images released by the US Department of Defense show F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jets taking off from the carrier’s deck in the Mediterranean, highlighting the US Navy’s operational readiness amid rising regional tensions.
