National Dialogue Committee Urges Political Dialogue, Reduces Tension

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The National Dialogue Committee (NDC) has called for an end to political tensions and abusive rhetoric in Pakistan, urging all political leaders to engage in constructive dialogue.

Speaking at a press conference, NDC leaders emphasized that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has the right to access his personal doctor. Fawad Chaudhry stressed that the nation is concerned about Khan’s health and that decisions about his personal matters should be his alone.

The committee also highlighted the growing distance between the government and the public, noting the absence of a clear mandate for the current administration. Chaudhry pointed out that Pakistan’s economic challenges have driven 125 international companies to leave the country, with reports from the IMF and the State Bank indicating severe strain on citizens.

Former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durani criticized remarks by President Asif Ali Zardari, calling them derogatory toward women and counterproductive to national unity. Durani suggested that the president retract his statement and focus on fostering reconciliation.

Barrister Muhammad Saif added that Pakistan urgently needs a united approach to address terrorism and internal challenges. The NDC, he noted, is playing a key role in promoting positive political engagement and reducing national tensions.

The committee called on all political stakeholders to prioritize dialogue over confrontation and work together to stabilize the country’s political environment.
