Home Minister Zia Lanjhar Threatens Strict Action Against Forced Shop Closures
Karachi, Pakistan | Web Desk: Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjhar has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against blocking roads or forcibly closing shops during protests. Speaking outside the Sindh Assembly in Karachi, he emphasized that no one will be allowed to disrupt traffic on main roads and that legal action will be taken if shops are forced to shut down.
Lanjhar recalled a similar incident when Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) blocked Shahrah-e-Faisal, stating that charges under the anti-terrorism law should have been applied. He warned that such measures will be enforced in the future to prevent road blockades.
He also issued a direct message to Hafiz Naeem, instructing that protests should be held on service roads or outside the Press Club, not on main roads near the Sindh Assembly. JI has planned a protest on February 14 in Karachi, which authorities say must follow legal boundaries.
