Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the “One Punjab, One Standard, One Design” policy aimed at eliminating haphazard construction and promoting uniform development across the province.
During a special briefing on infrastructure standardization, CM Maryam Nawaz directed that roads, schools, hospitals, bus stops, sidewalks, green belts, and signboards across Punjab will follow a consistent, globally recognized design standard. The initiative intends to create a coherent aesthetic identity for every city, street, and highway in the province.
“Punjab’s infrastructure will no longer reflect scattered development but a symbol of uniform progress. Roads, schools, hospitals, and bus stops will act as ambassadors of ‘Brand Punjab,’” the Chief Minister said. She emphasized that discipline in planning and construction is central to progress.
The policy also covers standardizing the design of kiosks, roadside shops, school and hospital buildings, and public transport facilities. A standardized design manual will be developed, and the formation of an autonomous authority to oversee full-scale infrastructure transformation is under consideration.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that from Lahore to Rajanpur, streets will be orderly, highways visually appealing, and public institutions models of discipline. Standardized infrastructure and street furniture will make Punjab cities aesthetically attractive while enhancing functional urban mobility.
