PTI Boycotts PM House Briefing on Regional Situation

Date:

(Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided not to attend a government briefing on the regional security situation scheduled at the Prime Minister House, according to a statement issued after a meeting of the party’s political committee.

The committee, which discussed Pakistan’s domestic political climate and broader regional developments, condemned what it described as aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, calling the attacks a violation of international law and expressing sorrow over civilian casualties, including reports of deaths among female students.

The statement also offered prayers for the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and others affected by recent unrest. It criticized the use of force against peaceful demonstrators and demanded an independent investigation into the incidents.

PTI further voiced concern about security conditions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and reiterated its demand for a meeting with party founder Imran Khan before participating in any government briefings. The party insisted on constitutional rights and the facilitation of meetings between Khan, his legal team, and family members, urging his medical treatment under the supervision of personal physicians at Shifa International Hospital.

The government had invited opposition parties to a briefing on the evolving regional security landscape following recent Middle East tensions, but PTI maintained that its participation would depend on prior arrangements for discussions regarding its demands.
