(Web Desk) – Maulana Fazlur Rehman visited the Iranian Embassy on Tuesday, expressing condolences over the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and recording his remarks in the embassy’s condolence book.
During the meeting with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam, the JUI-F chief condemned what he described as American and Israeli aggression against Iran, asserting that the conflict represented a second phase of war following Iran’s support for Hamas.
Fazlur Rehman stated that the Middle East remains gripped by prolonged tensions and that allegations used to justify military actions are unfounded. He argued that Iran is defending both its sovereignty and the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for Muslim unity at a critical juncture.
The JUI-F leader criticized efforts to broker peace by actors he described as perpetrators of violence, questioning the legitimacy of negotiations led by political figures associated with conflict.
Ambassador Moghaddam acknowledged the visit and praised the role of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl in fostering bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran. He expressed optimism that the Muslim world would ultimately prevail and described the condolence visit as a gesture of solidarity.
Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following recent exchanges of military action and diplomatic disputes, with regional leaders calling for restraint and dialogue.
