PM Shehbaz Sharif to Skip Bangladesh PM Inauguration Ceremony

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan — Web Desk: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will not attend the oath-taking ceremony of Bangladesh’s newly elected prime minister due to a pre-scheduled official visit to Austria, Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed on Sunday.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Bangladesh had formally invited Prime Minister Sharif to attend the inauguration ceremony. However, the Pakistani premier has already departed for Austria on an official trip at the invitation of the Austrian chancellor, making it impossible for him to participate in the event.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan would announce its representation at the ceremony once a decision is finalized.

The development comes amid evolving diplomatic engagements between Islamabad and Dhaka, with both countries seeking to strengthen bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
