Pakistan warns of severe response to future aggression

Date:

Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that any future military adventurism against Pakistan would carry “severe, far-reaching and painful consequences,” speaking at a solemn ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi marking one year since the “Battle of Truth” victory.

Addressing the commemorative event, the Field Marshal said Pakistan achieved a “decisive success” in what he described as a confrontation between two ideologies, crediting the armed forces and national unity for what he called a historic outcome.

He stated that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remain non-negotiable, adding that any attempt to destabilize the country would be firmly countered. He further said that future conflicts would involve multi-domain warfare, including long-range weapons, drones, cyber capabilities, and artificial intelligence.

The army chief also highlighted ongoing military modernization efforts, including the establishment of a Defence Forces Headquarters to enhance coordination and readiness in line with modern warfare requirements.

Referring to regional developments, he said Pakistan continues to engage in responsible diplomacy and supports peace efforts, while also addressing security challenges including terrorism. He reaffirmed that counterterrorism operations would continue until the elimination of all militant threats.

The ceremony was attended by senior military leadership, including the Air Chief Marshal and Naval Chief, who also paid tribute to fallen soldiers. A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the martyrs’ memorial, followed by a guard of honour by the armed forces.

Separately, Pakistan observed a national “Day of Gratitude” to mark the anniversary of the operation, with political leadership praising the armed forces’ role in national defense and stability.
