Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned the United States that any attack on Iranian oil tankers would trigger retaliatory strikes on American military bases and assets across the region.
According to Iranian state media, an IRGC Aerospace Force commander said Iran’s missile and drone capabilities are fully prepared to respond to any hostile action, emphasizing that Tehran can rapidly target both US military installations and naval assets in the Middle East.
The statement added that Iran would take all necessary measures to protect its oil shipping routes and national interests, amid heightened tensions in key maritime corridors such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian media also claimed that indirect diplomatic contacts are ongoing, with Pakistan reportedly playing a mediating role in conveying new US proposals related to extending ceasefire discussions. Efforts are reportedly underway through backchannel diplomacy to reduce regional tensions.
Security analysts say the situation in the Middle East remains highly sensitive due to increased US naval activity and ongoing tensions in strategic waterways that are critical for global energy supplies.
Iran has repeatedly warned that any disruption to its oil exports or maritime routes would be met with a strong response, raising concerns over potential escalation in an already volatile region.
Oil markets have also experienced fluctuations in recent weeks amid growing geopolitical uncertainty between Washington and Tehran.
