Washington, United States – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a key meeting with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in Washington, focusing on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment ties.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings 2026, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance.

Both sides discussed enhancing trade volumes, facilitating investment flows, and encouraging greater private sector engagement between Pakistan and United States.

Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in key sectors including mining, energy, and information technology, with officials highlighting the importance of unlocking new opportunities for mutually beneficial economic collaboration.

The discussions also underscored the need to create a more conducive business environment to attract foreign investment and deepen economic linkages between the two countries.

Analysts say the meeting reflects renewed efforts by Islamabad and Washington to strengthen economic diplomacy at a time of evolving global trade dynamics and regional uncertainty.
