Riyadh Web Desk: A Pakistani military contingent has arrived at King Abdulaziz Airbase in Saudi Arabia under a bilateral strategic defense agreement, the Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed on Saturday.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the ministry said the deployment is part of joint defense cooperation between the two countries. The Pakistani contingent includes Pakistan Air Force fighter jets and support aircraft.
According to the statement, the deployment aims to enhance joint military coordination, strengthen operational readiness, and contribute to regional and international security and stability.
Saudi officials described the move as a reflection of deep-rooted defense ties between the two countries, built on longstanding strategic cooperation.
Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, also shared the announcement, reiterating that the deployment falls within the framework of a previously agreed strategic defense pact.
The agreement, signed in September last year, marked a significant step in expanding military collaboration, with Pakistan playing a key role in supporting the security of critical sites in the Kingdom.
Analysts view the development as part of broader regional security coordination amid evolving geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East.
