ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — WEB DESK: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to enhance border trade, improve logistics coordination and harmonise customs procedures to strengthen bilateral economic relations and facilitate cross-border commerce.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iran’s Industry Minister, where both sides discussed measures to expand economic cooperation and improve trade connectivity between the two neighbouring countries.
During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the importance of removing barriers affecting trade flows and developing more efficient mechanisms for customs clearance and transportation procedures.
Officials emphasized that improved logistics coordination and simplified customs processes would help increase business activity, support traders and create new opportunities for economic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
The discussions also focused on strengthening border markets and expanding regional connectivity, with both countries expressing their commitment to promoting sustainable trade relations.
