Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted attempted drone attacks by the militant group Fitnah-ul-Khawarij in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera, federal authorities confirmed.
According to Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar, the small drones were reportedly operated by Taliban-backed militants. Pakistan’s anti-drone systems intercepted all drones, preventing casualties in all three incidents.
“These incidents highlight the ongoing direct links between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorist activities inside Pakistan,” Tarar stated.
In a related incident, a small explosion occurred outside the Government Girls High Secondary School in Pabini village, Swabi, injuring one student. Police officials reported that the blast may have been caused by explosive material dropped via drone, and further investigations are ongoing.
Authorities emphasize that security forces remain on high alert to counter cross-border terrorist threats and drone attacks.
