Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic efforts following recent attacks on Iran, seeking to mediate through both public statements and backdoor negotiations, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar told the Senate on Tuesday.
In a briefing, Dar highlighted that Pakistan reacted promptly on February 28 and also responded to the news of Ayatollah Khamenei’s reported death, issuing a statement through Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He emphasized that similar efforts were undertaken during the June attacks on Iran.
“Over the past three days, Pakistan has contacted multiple countries to facilitate dialogue,” Dar said. “Our aim is to bring the situation to negotiations and resolve it through mutual understanding.”
He revealed late-night discussions with Oman’s Foreign Minister and stressed that Iran remains a neighboring Muslim brother country. “Pakistan is fully committed to active diplomacy, both public and behind the scenes, and the Iranian leadership is aware and appreciative of these efforts,” he added.
