Islamabad – Web Desk: Pakistan has stressed the urgent need to end armed hostilities in Lebanon, stating that the ceasefire process is part of ongoing diplomatic negotiations aimed at regional stability.

Speaking at the weekly press briefing, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the negotiation process between relevant parties remains continuous, with no major breakthrough or breakdown reported so far. He described the situation as one of “no breakthrough, no breakdown,” noting that discussions lasting more than 21 hours were held on complex issues in a serious and comprehensive manner.

The spokesperson praised the seriousness, commitment, and constructive engagement of all parties involved in the talks, adding that extended negotiations reflect an unusual level of determination to pursue peace.

He said Pakistan continues to play a facilitation and mediation role in diplomatic efforts and emphasized that all diplomatic engagements, including high-level visits and meetings in Tehran, are part of a broader ongoing process involving multiple stakeholders.

The Foreign Office reiterated that confidentiality and trust between negotiating parties remain essential, declining to comment on sensitive details of the diplomatic exchanges.

Pakistan also welcomed support from international partners, including major global powers such as Russia, and said it remains in continuous consultation with friendly countries to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.

The spokesperson further urged caution against speculation regarding future negotiation schedules, confirming that no official dates have yet been announced.

Regarding regional developments, Pakistan reaffirmed its close ties with the United Arab Emirates and reiterated its condemnation of any attacks targeting UAE territory.

He added that recent signs of de-escalation on the Israel-Lebanon front over the past two days are encouraging and could help create a more conducive environment for sustained dialogue and a durable ceasefire.

Pakistan maintained that reducing tensions in Lebanon is essential for regional stability and that continued diplomatic engagement remains the only viable path toward lasting peace.
