Pakistan and Saudi Arabia conclude ‘Al Battar-II’ joint counter-terrorism drills

TABUK: The Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Joint Military Exercise, codenamed Al Battar-II, officially concluded today in Tabuk.

The combat drills, held from 18 to 26 November, brought together elite teams from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the Saudi Arabian Army, marking another milestone in the longstanding defence partnership between the two nations. Senior officials, including the General Officer Commanding SSG as Pakistan’s Chief Guest, and top military leadership from Saudi Arabia, attended the closing ceremony.

Throughout the intensive training sessions, troops from both countries demonstrated high levels of operational skill, discipline, and interoperability. The exercise focused on counter-terrorism proficiency with an emphasis on operations in built-up areas, effective response to improvised explosive devices, and refining tactical drills through integrated battlefield simulations.

The coordinated manoeuvres highlighted the capability of both forces to operate in complex and rapidly evolving threat environments.
Al Battar-II successfully achieved all of its outlined objectives. The exercise reinforced the shared commitment of both nations to enhancing regional security, strengthening joint preparedness, and promoting peace through collaboration and military cohesion.
