Urumqi, China – Web Desk: Junior-level diplomatic talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan commenced in Urumqi, China, officials confirmed on Monday.
Diplomatic sources stated that while Pakistan is ready to engage in dialogue with Afghanistan, its policy of targeting terrorist hideouts will remain unchanged.
Pakistan has appointed its Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Additional Secretary to lead the negotiations in China. The talks aim to foster communication channels, discuss regional security concerns, and explore ways to reduce cross-border tensions.
Analysts say these discussions reflect both nations’ willingness to maintain dialogue at a diplomatic level, even amid security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
