Oil Supply Restored to Attock Refinery After Transport Ban Ends

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Restrictions on the movement of crude oil tankers supplying Attock Refinery Limited have been lifted, allowing oil deliveries to resume and easing concerns over fuel shortages in northern Pakistan.

The suspension had earlier raised fears of a shutdown at Attock Refinery Limited after crude oil supplies were disrupted due to traffic restrictions.

With tanker movement restored, the risk of reduced fuel availability in northern regions has significantly declined, while refinery officials said production is expected to normalize soon.

Earlier, officials warned that if transport restrictions remained in place, the refinery could face an operational shutdown.

A prolonged disruption had also triggered concerns over possible jet fuel shortages at Islamabad International Airport and Bacha Khan International Airport.

Officials say the situation is now improving as crude oil supply routes have reopened, helping stabilize fuel operations in the region.
