BEIRUT, Lebanon – Web Desk: Israeli military strikes across southern Lebanon have killed at least five people, including a journalist, amid continued ceasefire violations, according to local reports.
The Israeli military said it carried out a drone strike in the Bekaa Valley, claiming it targeted and killed two members of Hezbollah.
However, Arab media reported that Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was also killed in the strikes. Her body was reportedly recovered from the rubble of a destroyed building.
Heavy bombardment was reported in several areas, including the town of Al-Khiam in southern Lebanon, where artillery shelling and bulldozers were used to demolish residential buildings. Reports also said mosques were among the sites damaged in the attacks.
According to Lebanon’s state news agency, Israeli forces have also destroyed roads and infrastructure in the Tyre district and surrounding areas.
The Israeli military has not independently confirmed all reported civilian casualties.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it carried out a retaliatory drone attack targeting an Israeli military vehicle, escalating cross-border tensions further.
The situation remains highly volatile as clashes and airstrikes continue despite international calls for restraint.
