Netanyahu Urged Trump to Avoid Ceasefire, Israeli Official Says

Date:

Jerusalem, Israel – Web Desk, April 6, 2026: An Israeli official has claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged former U.S. President Donald Trump during a phone call not to agree to a ceasefire with Iran.

According to the official, Netanyahu expressed concerns over any move toward a temporary truce, warning against steps that could ease pressure on Tehran. In response, Trump reportedly said that a ceasefire would only be considered if Iran accepted U.S. conditions.

The official added that Washington is insisting Iran hand over its enriched uranium and provide assurances that it will not pursue uranium enrichment in the future.

Meanwhile, in Iran, the interior minister claimed that approximately 12 million people have registered nationwide to support military efforts against the United States and Israel. Authorities said the call for volunteers was issued about 10 days ago, prompting a large public response.

Iranian media also released footage showing individuals in regions such as Sistan preparing to join potential military efforts, reflecting heightened national mobilization amid escalating tensions.

The developments underscore intensifying geopolitical strains in the Middle East, as diplomatic efforts for de-escalation remain uncertain.
