Tehran, Iran – Web Desk, April 6, 2026: Iran has rejected a proposal for a temporary ceasefire and instead outlined a set of conditions for a broader and lasting resolution to the ongoing conflict.
According to Iranian officials, Tehran is demanding a permanent end to hostilities, the lifting of international sanctions, and compensation for damages caused by recent attacks attributed to Israel and the United States.
A senior Iranian official confirmed that Iran has conveyed its response to U.S. proposals through Pakistan, which has reportedly been involved in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.
Iranian media reported that the response includes a 10-point framework, which also addresses secure navigation protocols in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Tehran would not accept conditions such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz or adhering to deadlines in exchange for a temporary ceasefire. He warned that any response to U.S. actions would not necessarily remain confined to the region.
The developments highlight the growing complexity of diplomatic efforts as regional tensions continue to escalate.
