ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The National Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution commemorating the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, as a Chinese delegation visited the parliament house.
The session, chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, saw lawmakers warmly welcome the Chinese delegation from the visitors’ gallery by thumping desks. The Speaker extended formal greetings to the delegation, while First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari enthusiastically welcomed the Chinese guests, proceeding to the gallery to shake hands with the delegation members.
Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry presented the unanimous resolution, which stated: “This House congratulates the completion of 75 years of Pakistan-China relations. The House welcomes the Chinese delegation and appreciates Pakistan-China efforts on CPEC. This House declares that the world will see Pakistan-China friendship grow even stronger in the next 75 years.”
Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai addressed the session, stating, “Despite severe differences with the government, we set them aside and came here. We ended our boycott on the arrival of the Chinese delegation. We welcome the Chinese delegation to the National Assembly. Pakistan will never forget China’s favors.”
As soon as the reception agenda in honor of the Chinese delegation concluded, the opposition walked out of the house, though they refrained from any sloganeering out of respect for the Chinese delegation. The Chinese delegation expressed great delight over the respect and honor extended by the entire house.
