Mumbai, India – Web Desk: Indian comedian Munawar Faruqui has spoken about the profound spiritual peace he experienced during his visit to Masjid al-Haram, describing the sacred mosque as a place unlike any other in the world.
Faruqui shared his reflections during a Ramadan television program in India hosted by former actress Sana Khan and her husband Mufti Anas. The comedian discussed various aspects of his personal life, spirituality, and family during the show.
Speaking about his recent Umrah pilgrimage, Faruqui said many places around the world can be visited, but the sense of peace at Masjid al-Haram is unique. He noted that the spiritual atmosphere around the holy site creates a feeling that makes visitors reluctant to leave.
Faruqui explained that while he knew his stay in Mecca would only last a few days, the spiritual environment and calmness of the sacred space made it difficult for him to return. He also mentioned that his wife had previous experience performing Umrah and helped guide him during the journey.
Reflecting on faith and life in the modern world, Faruqui said life today moves much faster than in the past, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. He emphasized that prayer remains central to people’s lives, noting that in moments of difficulty, individuals instinctively turn to God for help.
“Regardless of scientific progress, when people face hardship, the first words that come out are ‘Ya Allah,’ not ‘Ya Doctor,’” he said.
He added that from a religious perspective, true success lies in being remembered in the prayers of others and receiving sincere goodwill from people.
