Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has expressed her hope that Marium Nawaz could visit Karachi to help improve conditions in the city. In a clip rapidly circulating on social media, Iqbal praised Punjab’s recent developments and contrasted them with challenges faced in Karachi.
“I spend most of my time in Karachi, so the city feels like my own. But sometimes, issues arise here,” Iqbal said during a conversation with host Faisal Qureshi. She added, “If a Marium Nawaz comes here, perhaps the situation in Karachi could improve.”
The discussion drew attention to ongoing public debates about governance and urban development. Last year, Karachi traders had jokingly suggested swapping leadership between Punjab and Sindh to address administrative challenges, a comment that went viral on social media and attracted criticism toward the Pakistan People’s Party and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Iqbal’s remarks have sparked renewed discussion about the role of political leadership in addressing Karachi’s civic issues and the city’s long-standing infrastructural and administrative challenges.
