Mohammad Rizwan Clarifies Retirement Rumors After Remarks

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Former Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Rizwan has clarified his position regarding recent speculation about his retirement and national team selection, stating that he has not given up on his career despite acknowledging poor form.

Speaking at a press conference at the National Stadium in Karachi, Rizwan said that based on his current performances, he does not believe he deserves a place in the national team.

He revealed that during his stint in the Big Bash League, he himself had told teammate Haris Rauf that his form was not strong enough for selection, but emphasized that this does not mean he is ready to quit cricket.

Rizwan addressed criticism directed at his playing style, saying he is the same player people once said could not hit sixes. He added that mistakes are part of the game, but his passion for cricket remains unchanged.

The wicketkeeper-batter further stated that he had personally communicated with team management about his performance, suggesting that other players should be given opportunities if his form does not meet expectations.

Rizwan’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions around Pakistan’s team selection and player performance ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
