May 9 Cases: Court Adjourns Hearing Till May 19 Over Video Link Failure

Date:

RAWALPINDI – Web Desk: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has adjourned the hearing of 11 cases related to the May 9 tragedy until May 19 due to the non-functioning of the video link system between Adiala Jail and the court.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the hearing. The investigating officers for the 11 cases were not fully present, while the founder chairman of PTI marked his attendance from Adiala Jail. The process of distributing charge sheet copies remained incomplete, with the PTI founder also not receiving copies.

The defense lawyers’ request to meet the PTI founder for consultations on the May 9 cases was rejected. Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appeared and marked his attendance.

The 11 cases include the attack on GHQ Gate 4, the Army Museum attack, and the burning of a metro bus station and a sensitive building. The court ordered that the process of distributing charge sheet copies be completed by the next hearing.
