WASHINGTON – Web Desk: Former US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is responsible for the operations being carried out in Gaza.
In a statement, Sherman described the current situation in Gaza as “extremely alarming,” adding that the loss of life and destruction have raised questions globally. “Israeli leadership must be accountable for its actions,” she said.
The Israeli government maintains that it is conducting operations in defense of its security, and that its targets are militant groups, not civilians.
The international community continues to call for a ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the protection of civilians to prevent further loss of life.
