Macron Says France Won’t Join Strait of Hormuz Operation

Date:

Paris, France – Web Desk: French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that France will not participate in any military operation aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, amid rising tensions in the region.

In an official statement, Macron said France is not a party to the ongoing conflict and therefore will not take part in such an operation under the current circumstances.

He added that France is working on forming a coalition that would help ensure freedom of navigation once tensions ease, emphasizing a diplomatic and long-term approach to maritime security.

The remarks come as global powers respond cautiously to escalating instability in the Middle East. Earlier, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also said Britain would not join any operation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The waterway remains a critical global shipping route, and any disruption has significant implications for international trade and energy supplies.
