Lebanon, Israel End Rome Talks With ‘Positive’ Progress

Date:

Lebanon and Israel have concluded two days of U.S.-mediated negotiations in Rome, with both sides agreeing to move forward with the implementation of pilot zones in southern Lebanon, according to a U.S. official quoted by AFP.

Rome, Italy – Web Desk: The official described the discussions as “productive and positive,” saying the participants reached an agreement on the structure and operational guidelines for the pilot zone process.

According to the official, the framework is expected to be finalized and implemented in the coming days as part of broader efforts to reduce tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.

The Rome talks were facilitated by Washington and focused on advancing confidence-building measures under a recently agreed framework. The negotiations come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to improve regional stability following months of heightened cross-border tensions.

Officials have not yet released further details regarding the scope or timeline of the pilot zones.
