The United States has announced a new round of sanctions targeting Iranian individuals and companies under its counterterrorism authorities, further tightening pressure on Tehran amid heightened regional tensions.
Washington, United States – Web Desk: According to the US Treasury Department, the sanctions include Behrouz Namazi, who US authorities allege has links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with three other individuals and three companies.
The Treasury Department also added Nika Jet Company, associated with Namazi, to its sanctions list. The latest measures are part of Washington’s ongoing campaign to restrict financial and commercial networks it says support activities linked to terrorism.
The new sanctions come as tensions remain elevated across the Middle East, with the United States continuing to expand economic pressure on Iran through targeted financial restrictions.
