Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: The Lebanese government has formally accused Israel of spraying toxic chemicals, including glyphosate, in southern border regions, calling it a threat to public health, agriculture, and the environment.
President Joseph Aoun described the alleged actions as “environmental and health crimes” and a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty. Beirut has announced it will escalate the matter to international forums, including the United Nations and the Security Council, filing documented complaints and pursuing legal action.
This move highlights rising tensions between Lebanon and Israel and concerns over environmental security in the Middle East border regions. Experts warn that unchecked chemical spraying could have serious long-term ecological and health consequences.
