Iran Rejects US Demand to Halt Uranium Enrichment

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: In ongoing nuclear negotiations in Oman, Iran has firmly rejected the United States’ demand to stop uranium enrichment, asserting that it is a sovereign right. Tehran emphasized that its enrichment activities will continue uninterrupted, solely for peaceful energy and technology purposes, despite Washington’s warnings.

The US delegation urged Iran to limit or suspend its uranium enrichment to prevent any potential nuclear weapons development. However, Iranian officials maintained that their program is peaceful and critical for civilian energy and technological advancement.

This disagreement underscores one of the major points of contention between Tehran and Washington, highlighting the complex divide over nuclear policy. Experts note that continued enrichment by Iran could heighten tensions in the Middle East nuclear landscape.
